It’s time for the Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival!

West Virginia’s only lighthouse inspires an entire day of festivities. The 3rd annual Summersville Lake Lighthouse Festival will be packed with live music, contests, art and simple pleasures.

The Summersville Lake lighthouse is the real deal. Registered with the Federal Aviation Administration, the former wind turbine is no gimmick— it’s a special monument in the landlocked Mountain State. So bring on the celebration!

Summersville Lighthouse Festival highlights include:

stand-up paddleboarding

  • Bait casting tips from Cabela’s outdoor shop
  • Arts n’ crafts from Tamarack “Best of West Virginia” artists
  • Inflatable rides for the kids

And there’s plenty more:

Lakeside games

Laidback and casual, the festival brims with old-time games and contests. Put your game face on and maybe you’ll walk away with trophies or cash!

Enter your team in the cornhole tournament, and you could win $100 and prizes. Or try your luck at the raffle for a chance to win a Kayak Package from Cabela’s.

If you own a vintage auto, enter the Classic Car Show! This year’s festival has plenty of trophies up for grabs. Categories include Best Truck, Best of Show and Kid’s Choice.

Appalachian amusement

Head to the gazebo for an afternoon of mountain tunes! Jam out to the Lickety Split Band, a high-energy Appalachian group, and Elvis impersonator Rudy Elvis. Listen to him sing 60s and 70s classics just like The King!

You can also tour the famous lighthouse. Wander its circular deck, 104 feet off the ground. The views of Summersville Lake are simply stunning.

When you return to earth, meet the Nicholas County Animal Shelter’s cats and dogs.
