Carpool on the Rock & Bus to Bridge Day from WV, NC, Pa & Va

In our commitment to being eco-friendly, we've teamed up with Rally Bus "Rock & Bus" to offer rides to Bridge Day. Rock & Bus to WV for Bridge Day

Festival fans in major cities in West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina can leave their cars behind and hop aboard a Rock & Bus to travel to the festival and back— in luxury seating, no less.

"Each one of these buses reduces our carbon footprint," said Cindy Dragan, New River Gorge Bridge Day director. "It helps preserve the landscape and beauty of Bridge Day, so we hope people will choose to carpool on the busses."

Each bus holds up to 60 passengers, meaning about 20-30 fewer cars on the road. Which isn't just eco-friendly, it's convenient.

Shuttle services already help create more convenient park-and-ride areas for drivers, but the busses will allow people to avoid the hassles of driving, parking and dealing with the traffic altogether.

At rates of about $30-$70 round-trip, the ride can also be more affordable than fuel for the drive plus wear and tear on a car.

"Hopefully, the busses will not only ease the burden for drivers, they'll also give more people a way to be able to come join us for Bridge Day," Dragan said.

The busses are also cozy: each has TVs, a DVD player, and a restroom on board. Some also have WiFi and power outlets, too.

They even use live traffic data to avoid delays. Set to arrive at 9 a.m. when the festival opens, the itinerary gives you plenty of time to enjoy Bridge Day. Leave time isn't until after the end of the event, so you won't miss anything, either.

Riders can sign up to travel from any of the following destinations:

  • WV: Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, Parkersburg, Wheeling
  • Pa: Johnstown, Pittsburgh
  • Va: Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Winchester
  • NC: Charlotte, Durham, Gastonia, Greensboro, Hickory, Winston Salem

There is a minimum number of riders required to confirm each bus, so sharing the ride with your friends can help make sure it happens. Rock & Bus even has fliers you can print out to encourage others to join the trip.

If a ride doesn't meet the minimum, Rock & Bus will try to route cities together so they can have multiple pickups. But if it simply isn't possible, they will let you know 2 weeks before the trip so you still have time to plan.

Book your ride online or by calling (855) 725-5928.
