AT BRIDGE DAY

How can I go down to the bottom to watch?

The road that goes into the gorge has been closed on Bridge Day ever since 9/11. You are allowed to walk down, but it is 4 ½ miles (one way). If you do walk down, you will also have to walk back up.

There are are other opportunities for you to get to the bottom on Bridge Day: The Adventures on the Gorge Into the Gorge Shuttles. Reservations for either of these can be made by calling the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce at 800-927-0263.

What is are the Into the Gorge Shuttles?

The Into The Gorge Shuttles are $25, and will allow you to board any of the buses that will be continually traveling into the gorge.

How do I catch a shuttle to the entrance of Bridge Day?

There are six different stops, four on the south and two on the north, where you can park for free and pay $2 to ride a shuttle bus to the event entrance.

WHAT TO/ NOT TO BRING

Can I bring my dog to Bridge Day?

No, there are no animals allowed at Bridge Day. We all have dogs and love them, but the bridge gets very crowded, so it’s not a great environment for pets. Service animals with proper identification papers displayed on harness will be permitted.

What else should I leave at home?

Do not bring a backpack or large purse, or you will have to go back to your car to drop it off.

What about strollers?

You can bring fold-up strollers, but you and the stroller may be searched.
