Sharing Social Media On Bridge Day

Like this, but online
Everyone knows that a big part of Bridge Day is about taking some amazing pictures and video, right?
This year at Bridge Day 2009, you can link to everything Bridge Day on the web, on your phone, and even on out on the bridge itself. We want you to tag, send, and share this event with the whole world.
Social media is perfect for Bridge Day. It’s a cool event that’s given to great images- kind of perfect for sharing. And we want people everywhere to know what it’s all about.
And here’s what’s makes it work: it’s your event. You get to choose what people see and hear about it. Brilliant.
So we are on Facebook, Flickr, and Youtube. Just load your own Bridge Day content on any social sites you like, and share it- make sure you use tag it with #bridgeday so we can link to it. There will be a constant stream of you-generated-content being broadcast on the site.
If you use Twitter, you can follow us @bridgeday, and get Bridge Day tweeted to you, 140 characters at a time, and let us know what’s going on with you. Just tag each post with #bridgeday. If you are on the Bridge, you can follow what is being said by others by loading the ‘live’ (it’s not quite real-time, but close) stream on your handheld.

You can keep up to date on updates, and special announcements on your phone with our free text messages.
All you have to do is text bd30 to 77007. You’ll know what’s happening all around the gorge as it happens, all weekend long.
We want to promote Bridge Day, and since you’re the stars, well… let’s get social.
Also if you are on the Bridge you will see some strategically placed strange looking signs, called QR Codes. QR Codes are being used more and more to make print, a bit more interactive. As you know, we don’t usually do things like others…and we decided to use QR Codes to give you more information, while you are on the Bridge.
If you have any of the free “readers” installed on your phone (you can find a list here) you can simply take a photo of the sign, and in return you will receive a website link with more information, a map perhaps, and more.
You will find signs to provide more information about the counties taking part in the “walk West Virginia”, parking maps and more.
